Straightforward Youth Group is the junior high and high school ministry of Cerritos Baptist Church located in Cerritos, CA.

Straightforward is a place where the youth can meet together to learn and apply the Word of God in their daily lives.  A typical evening includes a time of games, messages, prayer, fellowship, and small groups.

Mission and Vision

Living in line with the grace and truth of the gospel

The Four C’s:

1. Christ: We want our students to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus. Every Friday night, we want kids to experience God and come to know Him better.  This is accomplished by teaching from God’s Word (and teaching kids to love God’s Word), prayer, and worship.

2. Community: We want every one of our students to feel like they are part of a family. Whenever a students comes into our ministry, we want them to feel loved and accepted.  Times in small groups, ministry time with youth staff, and fellowship time help devote community.

3. Character: We want all of our students to become more like Jesus.  As they face challenges and temptations in their lives, we want to support them and help them make good Christ-like decisions.  We focus Friday night messages and post-Friday small groups around this emphasis.

4. Commission: We want the Great Commission to impact the lives of all of our students.  As they experience God’s love and grace, we hope they develop a real desire to share that love with their friends and loved ones. We plan post-Friday activities (P.F.F’s) and outreach nights to give students the opportunity to invite their friends to youth group.
